Many Kelowna photographers listed online (Hiilite, Candid Apple Collective, BROWN STUDIO, One Peak Creative, EMC Studios) are commercial portrait and wedding photographers, not instructors. Real teaching providers are limited.
Central Okanagan Photographic Society (COPS) offers affordable access to photography education with workshops on specialized topics (astro, architecture, editing). Visitors can attend 3 free meetings before membership. Meetings occur Sept-May on Tuesday evenings.
Many photography course providers (Camera Adventures, Learn Photography Canada) do not publish pricing online. Book via Eventbrite or contact directly for rates. Hodder Photography is clearest on pricing.
Learn Photography Canada offers camera loans during workshops at no additional cost, reducing barriers for beginners without equipment. Centre for Arts and Technology requires you to own a camera before enrolling.
